PS! Näidispildid avanevad originaalsuuruses parema hiireklikiga "View image" (Firefoxis).

So, I decided to talk a bit about what kind of cameras/lenses I've used and what are still in use today. None of my sample images have been edited.

Trust Powercam 730s
...ehk minu esimene digikaamera.
siin (inglise keeles).

My first digital camera.
I got this in 2003 and it served me for about 2-3 years. Quality of the images was not that good, everything was kind of blurry/noisy. The memory card (CompactFlash*) was quite bulky and its capacity (16MB) was also not that great. Lowest image quality settings resulted in maximum of 70-80 photos and better quality in about 30 photos. Bigger cards were also pricey, if I remember correctly.
After 2-3 years the camera's screen broke and soon after it stopped working altogether. Since the guarantee was still valid, the store replaced it for a new camera for free. For that reason I no longer have it, although I'm pretty sure I still have its mini tripod and case somewhere.
*CompactFlash is still used today (capacity ranges from 2MB-128GB). You can read more about the differences in CF vs SD card

Canon Powershot A400
Sellegipoolest nautisin Canonit tohutult. Miinuseks oli väike ekraan ja AA patareitoide.
Töötab senimaani, kuid reaalselt kasutanud pole teda aastaid.
//
It was a huge step forward (to me) compared to the Trust camera. I have nothing bad to say about this one, although mine was a bit faulty from the beginning. It didn't affect taking photos but it did inconvenience me while looking at them (it's kind of hard to explain, but you had to hold the "right direction" key along with "select", otherwise your selection/zoom was "running" around the screen and choosing a different setting for something wasn't possible). Nonetheless, I really enjoyed my time with Canon. Drawbacks were small screen and the use of AA batteries.
I haven't used it for years, but it still works just fine.

Nikon Coolpix L11
//
It was mainly bought because of the larger screen and its smaller size. In my opinion, it was a bit too sensitive to shaking and I wasn't very accustomed to shooting with this in macro mode. You had to stand far from the object and then zoom in whereas with Canon you had to stand very close to the object. You can't really say that there was anything wrong with this camera or that it was bad...I just never grew that attached to it for some reason.
Still works, but as with Canon, I haven't used it for quite some time.

Nikon D80 + kit lens Nikkor 18-135mm
Aastast 2008 ja on senimaani olnud mu põhiliseks "dünaamiliseks duoks". Tuli koos flashiga, mida olen kasutanud ehk vaid paar korda.
D80 on üle elanud päris palju, kaasaarvatud garantiiremondi Rootsi.
//
It has been my main companion since 2008. It came with a huge flash which I've only used couple of times. D80 has gone through a lot, including sending it away to Sweden for repairs in 2010. Problem lied in faulty autofocus - one day it just stopped working (body/lens didn't drop down or anything). It was in Sweden for about 2 months and didn't come back any "wiser", it was said by the technicians that the feature was beyond repair. Half of the summer I was missing my camera and the other half I was getting used to manual focus (as a short-sighted person it's not always that easy). For some reason I decided to try autofocus in the beginning of autumn that year and as a great surprise, it finally started working and has done so without any problems ever since (fingers crossed).

Smena 8M

Soviet film camera that has been quoted as being "a decent lens in a plastic box". I wouldn't say it's the best for landscapes, but it does perform very well for portraits. I think it's worth a shot for anyone who is interested in simpler/basic Soviet cameras (it's also not that expensive). I bought it couple of years ago for about 30EEK/~2€. We used to have the same model back in the day, but my mother had thrown it away for reasons unknown. Unfortunately you can't see in the viewfinder whether the object is in focus or not, so that might result in blurry photos. For this reason I'm actually surprised that I was able to get any sharp shots at all. Obviously it's not an automatic camera which means that double exposure is likely when forgetting to scroll the film. I personally find it to be a nifty little thing that actually performs surprisingly well.

Zenit-E.

My current roll of film is still not full (yes, after all this time). There just isn't always enough room in my bag to bring it along. Since I have no photos, I can't say anything about its image quality from a personal viewpoint. Choosing exposure was a bit tricky at first. When I received it, I was testing it out without a film (trying to understand features and such) and noticed that the selected exposure time didn't correspond to reality, for instance if I had selected 1/500 which should sound like fast "click" it actually sounded quite slow. Turns out that with time, the exposure dial can get a bit loose and thus become inaccurate. Fortunately, this was easily fixed.

Canon AF35ML
Sellest
kaamerast olen rohkem rääkinud
selles postituses. Tegelikult ongi
möödunud häbiväärselt pikk aeg tema kasutamisest, lähiajal tuleb
kindlasti uus filmirull sisse panna.

I've
talked about this camera before in
this post. To be honest, it has been
ages since I've last used it, so it's about time to grab a new roll of
film and start shooting.

Industar 50
...objektiiv on saanud mu suureks lemmikuks lähivõtete tegemisel. Lõpmatusse teravustamine Nikoni kerega on temaga veidi raskendatud.
//
This Soviet lens has become my favorite for taking close-up shots. It's pretty old (first manufactured in 1959), but small and sharp. In order to attach it to my Nikon body, it needed 2 adapter rings (M39+M42). Focusing to infinity is a bit complicated; it involves taking the lens apart and filing some details inside. To be honest, I'm not really up for that - too afraid of completely breaking it. I've also heard other ways of achieving focusing to infinity (such as using a macro ring) but so far none of these methods have worked for me.
Speaking of macro rings, it was equipped with 4 which I've really grown to love.

MTO-500a.
//
Soviet telephoto lens. It's quite heavy (
1.5 kg/3.3 lbs) and I personally find that it needs a very steady hand (or a tripod) in order to get a clear shot. Its unique donut-shaped bokeh looks very interesting in photos. I haven't really used it that much, but so far it has been a joy.
It came with 4 filters: red, green and 2 colorless filters.

Nikkor 50mm 1.8D
Uusim liige. Seega igaks juhuks on kaasas mõlemad.
Erinevaid näiteid on alates kevadest mitmes postituses.

Newest member. I wish I could say that by now I've had enough time to play around with it a lot...but unfortunately this isn't so. It hasn't taken the place of my primary lens (which is the D80 kit lens) just because sometimes I really need the zoom and othertimes 50mm just brings everything "too close" (and there isn't room to step back). That's why I usually bring both along.
I soon hope to test it in not so great lighting situations and I also want to try out street photography using the 50.
Starting from spring, there are many examples in various posts.
