Nüüd on see siis juhtunud - truu Nikkori 9 aastat vana objektiiv lendas õnnetult vastu asfalti! Imekombel jäi kaamera terveks ja ka objektiiv ise pole täiesti tükkideks, kuid pildistada sellega praeguses seisukorras enam siiski ei saa. Esmane plaan on ta parandusse viia ning ehk midagi uut (või ka teise ringi oma) asemele osta. Ilmselt oli selleks ka paras aeg, sest kõik need aastad on ta ju olnud mu ainus alati-valmis-alati-sobiv objektiiv ning aktiivse kasutamise tulemusena oli kulumise märke juba varasemalt näha.
Hoolimata sellest oli ringkäik Ida-Eestisse taas ainult positiivne ja lõbus. Nii seltskonna kui külastatud kohtade poolest. Nagu alati, oleks veel nii palju olnud näha ja teha, aga kahe päevaga igale poole paraku lihtsalt ei jõua. Käisime läbi Narva-Jõesuust, Narvast, Sillamäelt, Sinimägedest ning Toilast. Suurem osa pilte on tehtud juba katkise objektiiviga ning mõneti on näha pildi äärtes tumedaid laike. Samuti avaldas see mõju üldisele säriaja, teravuse jms sätetele.

It has finally happened, my trusty 9 year old Nikkor lens fell on the asphalt. Miraculously the body is fine and the lens itself is not completely into pieces, but taking photos with it is no longer possible. Plan A is to take it to a repair shop and possibly buy something new (or second hand) to replace it, just in case. About time, I think, because it has been my main and most used lens for all these years and after everything it has been through, the lens had already started to show its wear.
Despite this unfortunate accident, trip to Eastern-Estonia was positive and fun both in company and in the experience itself. As usual, there was not enough time to go everywhere, so there is more reason to go back someday. We went to Narva-Jõesuu, Narva, Sillamäe, Sinimäed and Toila. Most photos here were taken with an already broken lens and you can see a dark shadow in the corners in some photos. The damage could also be seen when setting the exposure, in clarity/sharpness etc.

Ida-Virumaa

Ida-Viru jaoks jääb kahest päevast väheks, see on kindlamast kindlam. Nii palju on vaatamist ja kindlasti tasub sinna kunagi tagasi minna. Seekord sai käidud Hara rabas (Juminda poolsaarel), Valaste joal, Narva-Jõesuus, Viivikonnas ja loomulikult ka Narvas. Kuna pimeneb juba varakult, oli Viivikonnas piltide tegemine veidi raskendatud. Silmmällu jäid sellegipoolest unustamatud kaadrid.
Lisaks sai tehtud tiir ka soojuselektrijaamade juures, mis jätsid heas mõttes väga sürreaalse mulje. Just praegune surev loodus ja see tööstusmaastik meenutasid väga Stalker: Call of Pripyat mängu.
Narvas pikemalt polnud ma kunagi viibinud ja seda üllatavam oli, kui palju see tegelikult näeb väikse Venemaa osana välja. Inimesed olid sõbralikud ja meeldivad ning linn ise oli väga kena.

Two days is not enough to explore the beauty of Ida Viru county. There's so much to see and someday I really want to go back there again. This time I visited the bog of Hara, Valaste waterfall, Narva-Jõesuu, Viivikonna and of course, the town of Narva. Since it's getting dark quite early now, it was difficult to take photos (without a tripod) in Viivikonna. But nonetheless, the recordings in my mind are vivid enough :)
I also saw the Narva power plants which look so surreal (in a good way). The weather, the look of nature right now and the industrial surroundings gave a really strong Stalker: Call of Pripyat vibe to me.
It was also the first time I've spent more time in Narva and it was quite a surprise, how much it looks more like a part of Russia than Estonia. People are friendly and the town itself is nice-looking.

Olen paariks kuuks õnnistatud kursaõe kassi hoidmisega :D Ja tegelikult on see ütlemata suur au sellist usaldust omada. Hoolealuse nimi, nagu pealkirigi reedab, on Piksel. Noor ja energiline...asju kappidel-riiulitel pole enam mõtet hoida - kõik kukub, kõik kaob! Oma pättused korvab ta küll sellega, et on ütlemata nunnu ja pehme. Kes saaks siis noorele kassile mänguhimu keelata, kui hiljem su peale nii armsasti nurruma tuleb :)
Kindlasti tuleb temast veel pilte, tänane on alles algus.

I was asked to cat-sit for a couple of months by a friend of mine and I can't even begin to describe what an honour and a blessing it is :D So, the name of the little fluffball (as said in the title), is Pixel. She is young and energetic...no point in having valuable things on shelves and tables anymore, though! Luckily, she's good with making up for that by being so soft and cute. Who could then deny such playfulness :)

What could be better than spending some time with seven cats? My hands and arms also got new modifications by the fine artists's claws :) It was worth it, though. Reminded me of the time when my arms were always like that - full of scratch marks.
