Valga & Viljandi

Mahajäetud hooned on mu meelispaigad, kuid praegu jäi mulje, et sellesse väikesesse linna on neid viimasel ajal kuidagi liiga palju tekkinud.

It was our annual round-trip time to Valga to visit our relatives. We also went to Valka in Latvia and stopped for an hour in Viljandi. It was sad to see that Valga was a bit tired-looking and many buildings were in a bad condition. I really like abandoned buildings, but it seemed as though lately the amount of them in Valga has increased greatly. We saw a couple of empty apartment buildings in Kaagjärve and although the sight might not be *that* unusual in smaller places in Estonia, it was still the first time for me to see anything of that sort.
I must admit that Valka in Latvia was mighty fine, though! Unfortunately I was too "busy" spending lats (no crazy shopping - how could I leave Latvia without buying ice cream and Laima chocolate :D) so I didn't take any photos. Latvians - I am so sad that you will also be joining the Euro because there is nothing like having a currency of your own...I know I still think in Estonian kroons and will always miss having them as our currency.
We also spent a little more time than usual in Viljandi. I wanted to go to the Viljandi Suspension Bridge/ruins of the Viljandi Order Castle because the last time we went there, I was about four/five years old. I must say that during that little walk I completely fell in love with Viljandi and can't wait to visit again. I ran around like a headless chicken because there was so much to see and take photos of (but as usual, there wasn't enough time to do it all).

Kiire jalutuskäik Helme lossi varemetes.
A quick walk around ruins of Helme castle.
Tõrvas. Kasutatud riided.
