Absoluutselt iga hoone juures on midagi põnevat.
Samas meie poodides on Laimat palju.
Tänu hotellis olnud teleka kõige huvitavamale kanalile - läti šlaager - kõlab nüüd kõrvus Armands Dudeks - Kāpēc Tu vēl klusē? (Bīriņi 2014) (ja just see konkreetne esitus).

A great weekend in Riga. It was a sunny Saturday until the evening and on Sunday it was almost like winter again, cold and rainy. We spent about 5 hours outside/in shopping centres and that made our clothes soaking wet (nothing else to do, check out was early). Estonia greeted us with a surprise as well - there was a decent amount of snow on the ground. Which is just, ugh. It's spring!
Since the hotel was about 2km from the bus station/old town, we sure got a good excercise by walking to everywhere. I wish I'd have the same motiviation to walk around that much in Tallinn as well :D
I've now visited Riga about 3-4 times, last time being about 14 years ago. And let's be real, I can't remember much in detail (other that spending your typical 5 lats at the souvenir shops, visiting the water park, the zoo and the circus)...but now it really struck me how beautiful Riga is. Every single building is interesting. And I could spend days in the central market.
Main observationis about people in Riga: they like their bicycles and the drivers sure love to honk the horn. They don't have flimsy umbrellas, every single one that I saw (and I saw many), was big and sturdy. Latvians are very proud of Laima, unfortunately there is no love for Kalev :( Even if I was able to spot a Kalev chocolate bar, it was only in one flavour and on the very bottom shelf. Which is odd, because there is a good selection of Laima products in our stores.
Thanks to the Latvian schlager TV channel in the hotel, this specific performance is haunting me. Armands Dudeks - Kāpēc Tu vēl klusē? (Bīriņi 2014).
